General Assistance
The Town of Bethel has a General Assistance program for people in need.
If you need help, your city is required to take your application for General Assistance.
The Department shall assume statutory responsibilities associated with the provision of general assistance. In addition, the department shall represent the Town in dealings with the Maine Department of Health and Human Services, other state agencies, federal agencies, school units, and private organizations in matters of welfare and general assistance.
The Department shall be responsible for the administration of ordinances which are related to general assistance.

Please be aware that appointments will be made for Mondays only, unless it is an emergency situation.
