Here are listed the Policies for Waste Acceptance at Route 2 Transfer Station as adopted by Towns, Bethel – Hanover - Newry, September, 2001.

How to Use the Transfer Station
Transfer Station Fees

Click on menu for details on daily allowable quantities of the specific waste type:

Municipal Household Waste
Recyclables
Brush, Leaves, Stumps
White Goods (Appliances)
Construction Debris
Shingles
Sheetrock
Metals
Tires

To use the Transfer Station:

  • All vehicles must display a town-issued Transfer Station sticker
  • Transfer Station sticker costs $2.00
  • Transfer Station sticker is available at your Town Office

The attendant is authorized to make determinations whether or not to accept any type of waste delivered to the transfer station and the attendant’s word is final.

Fees for the Transfer Station MUST be:

  • Pre-paid at your Town Office
  • Proof of payment must be provided to Transfer Station attendant.

Please note that a TRANSFER STATION STICKER, TIRES and WHITE GOODS (APPLIANCES) require pre-paid fees.

  • no longer accepted by towns as of October 1, 2001

  • one full-sized pick-up truck, or equivalent volume, per day

Sheetrock

  • one full-sized pick-up truck, or equivalent volume, per day

Metals

  • one full-sized pick-up truck, or equivalent volume, per day

Tires

  • $2.00 per tire, pre-paid at town office w/ proof of payment provided to attendant
  • up to 16 inch tire only
  • no heavy equipment or commercial vehicle tires
  • no tires w/ rims

Whites Goods – Appliances

  • $5 per appliance, pre-paid at town office w/ proof of payment provided to attendant
  • Appliances: stoves, refrigerators, washer and dryers

FREON MUST BE REMOVED FROM ALL UNITS
