FULL DISCUSSION OF SUBJECT MATTER ON TAPE

Selectmen Present: Stan Howe, Dennis Doyon, Don Bennett, Jack Cross, and Robert Everett

Staff Present: Manager Doar, Clerk Mason, and Police Lieutenant White

Others Present: None

The board discussed offering a Severance Package for Police Lieutenant White who will be laid off July 1, 2010.

Don Bennett moved, Dennis Doyon second to offer the following severance package to Lieutenant White. The town would pay him his gross weekly wage times the number of years of service rounded up to the nearest year, and would offer an additional $200.00 per month for the last twelve months for his service to the Community. The money would come out of the FY10 operating budget.  The package would breakdown as follows: Gross Wage $802.00 X 6 (#of years of service) = $4,812.00 plus an extra $200.00/mon. X 12 = $2,400.00 for a total severance package of $7,212.00. The board members extended their gratitude to Lt. White for running the Police Department under extenuating circumstances for the last year.  All were in favor.

The board discussed proposed amendments to the contract with the Oxford County Sheriff’s Department. Two separate amendments were proposed. The first being that the town would turn over three service pistols to the Sheriff’s Department, if the Town establishes a Police Department in the future the Sheriff’s Department would convey to the Town three service pistols of comparable condition. The second change would be the date of the payment installments, the original contract called for the monthly payments to be made on the first of the month starting with August 1. , the County requested that the payments be made by the Fifteenth of each month beginning with July 15, 2010.

Don Bennett moved, Robert Everett second to approve the proposed amendments to the contract with the Oxford County Sheriff’s Department. All were in favor.

Robert Everett moved, Dennis Doyon second to approve the sale of a Glock Model 21 .45 caliber pistol, serial number HFX496 with holster and three magazines to Lieutenant Shayne R. White for the price of $350.00. All were in favor.





Chairman Howe discussed with the board and Manager Doar the parking status of Mason St. It was agreed that with the new sidewalk parking should be eliminated on the Street.

Dennis Doyon moved, Don Bennett second to adjourn the meeting. All were in favor.

The meeting was adjourned at 6:25PM.
